On July 28 we marked World Nature Conservation Day, reminding us of our shared responsibility to protect the planet’s natural heritage – and there’s no better way to celebrate than by learning in nature, for nature. That’s why on the same day we kicked off our Transboundary Summer School for young conservationists in Prespa.
During five days, the participating students, young researchers, and nature lovers from Greece, North Macedonia and Albania will explore the unique biodiversity and conservation challenges of this transboundary region, this time focusing on one of its most precious and threatened ecosystems – the wetlands.
Through fieldwork, discussions with experts, and direct encounters with nature, we’re helping build the next generation of guardians of Prespa – guided by the shared knowledge and collaboration of our transboundary PrespaNet network.
