We carried out a coordinated operation with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, the State Environmental Inspectorate, and the Food and Veterinary Agency, with the aim of collecting samples for analysis and transporting the dead animal to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje for an autopsy.
Such cases do not leave us indifferent, especially given that only around 50 individuals of the Balkan lynx remain. At the same time, they clearly indicate that if we wish to preserve endangered species, it is essential to plan and construct green bridges that will allow animals to move safely and overcome the barriers created by human activity.
