The Macedonian Ecological Society is offering scholarships of 400 euros per month for university studies in ecological, biological, forestry, and agricultural sciences.
The programme is intended for high school students from the Prespa region and aims to address the local shortage of professionals in the natural sciences related to nature conservation and environmental protection. In this way, future students will be able to acquire knowledge and skills that will enable them to actively contribute to strengthening local capacities for nature conservation in the Prespa region.
In addition to the financial support provided to selected students, the Macedonian Ecological Society will also include them in its mentorship programme, through which they will gain practical and field experience in the research and protection of species and habitats in Prespa.
More information about the scholarship programme, the application process, and the selection criteria can be obtained by interested high school students and their parents at the local office of the Macedonian Ecological Society in Resen, or via email at the following addresses: zaec@mes.org.mk and eftimovski@mes.org.mk.
This scholarship programme is implemented within the project “Prespa Green & Blue Initiative: Empowering Conservation through Research, Education and Communication” funded by the European Union under the programme “EU for Prespa” and co-funded by the Prespa-Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT).
Project implementation partners are the Macedonian Ecological Society, the Municipality of Resen, Galichica National Park, the Society for the Protection of Prespa (SPP) from the Republic of Greece, and the Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania (PPNEA) from the Republic of Albania. The implementation of project activities is supported by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of North Macedonia and Pelister National Park.
