The Macedonian Ecological Society (MES) has long been working to advance research, monitoring, and conservation in the Prespa region, generating knowledge that contributes to the preservation of its unique biodiversity and ecosystems.
This repository brings together scientific studies, monitoring surveys, assessments, and conservation planning documents produced through this work and in collaboration with partners from across the region. The materials cover key topics, including waterbirds, mammals, reptiles, wet meadows, alder forests, and other wetland habitats. Together, they provide an important scientific knowledge base for understanding, monitoring, and protecting Prespa’s natural heritage, while supporting coordinated conservation efforts across North Macedonia, Albania, and Greece.
