On August 26, ahead of World Lakes Day, we invite you to the town square in Resen to celebrate Prespa at the public event “My Patch of Nature.”
Expect an evening filled with conversation, socializing, local flavors, games and music – but above all, an opportunity to reflect together on how we can preserve Prespa’s natural wealth and create a future in which both people and nature can thrive.

- Welcome address by Jovan Tozievski, Mayor of the Municipality of Resen
- Welcome address by Robertina Brajanoska, Executive Director of the Macedonian Ecological Society
18:15 | Signing of the Declaration on the Establishment of a Cross-Border Forest Working Group
18:30 | Panel discussion
“Preserving and Sustainably Managing Prespa’s Natural Heritage”
The discussion will bring together:
• Ajman Al Malla, Head of the Environment Sector at the Municipality of Resen
• Andon Bojadzi, Head of the Nature Protection Department at Public Institution National Park “Galichica”
• Dragan Arsovski, Head of the Programme for Knowledge and Science at the Macedonian Ecological Society
• Marijana Milevska, Project Manager at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for the “EU for Prespa” project
And alongside the discussions, we will also experience Prespa through the things created by the people who live here.

We will begin the evening with authentic traditional urban music performed by the group “Persidi”, followed by the well-known local rock band “Push Pauza.”

The event is organized within the framework of the project “Prespa Green & Blue Initiative – Empowering Conservation through Research, Education and Communication,” funded by the European Union through the “EU for Prespa” programme and co-financed by the Prespa-Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT). Project implementation partners are the Macedonian Ecological Society, the Municipality of Resen, Galichica National Park, the Society for the Protection of Prespa (SPP) from the Republic of Greece, and the Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania (PPNEA) from the Republic of Albania. The implementation of project activities is supported by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of North Macedonia and Pelister National Park.
