“My Patch of Nature” on August 26 in Resen!
Article Summary

On the eve of World Lakes Day, we invite you to join us in celebrating the nature of Prespa!

On August 26, starting from 18:00 o'clock, the town square in Resen will host the public event “My Patch of Nature”, organized in cooperation with the Municipality of Resen and Galicica National Park.

Together, we will talk about the state of and challenges facing nature conservation, biodiversity and the environment in Prespa. We will enjoy fun educational activities, discover local products and the natural riches of the region, and round off the evening with an authentic Resen musical programme.

But some of the activities start earlier!

To bring our scientific research on Prespa’s wildlife closer to citizens, we are also organizing two field visits with public participation:

🐦 Birdwatching
📅 August 25, 2026 (Tuesday) | 🕔 17:00

🐢 Turtle monitoring
📅 August 26, 2026 (Wednesday) | 🕗 08:00

Register to participate in the field visits at the following link, no later than August 19: https://forms.gle/EzzvwMdmduemPfQt7

Then, we will all meet on August 26 at the town square in Resen! Join us!

The event is organized as part of the project “Prespa Green & Blue Initiative: Empowering Conservation through Research, Education and Communication” funded by the European Union under the programme “EU for Prespa” and co-funded by the Prespa-Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT). Project implementation partners are the Macedonian Ecological Society, the Municipality of Resen, Galichica National Park, the Society for the Protection of Prespa (SPP) from the Republic of Greece, and the Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania (PPNEA) from the Republic of Albania. The implementation of project activities is supported by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of North Macedonia and Pelister National Park.
