The sustainable management of wet meadows plays a vital role in preserving Prespa's outstanding natural values. Regular mowing maintains favourable conditions for the survival of numerous plant and animal species while simultaneously supporting sustainable agricultural and livestock farming practices. The hay produced through this activity will be distributed to local livestock farmers and to Galichica National Park, where it will be used at the European red deer breeding centre.

In this way, the initiative represents a successful example of an integrated and circular system of sustainable management, in which public institutions, protected areas, and the local community work together to conserve nature, while the resulting benefits are returned to both people and the ecosystem.
As part of this year's activities, a phytocoenological analysis will also be carried out to scientifically monitor the development of plant communities and assess the effects of the applied management measures on biodiversity and the ecological condition of the wet meadows.
