We recieved the "Keys of Prespa" award!

For nearly half a century, Prespa has held a special place in our work. From the early research of Professor Dr. Ljupcho Grupche and Professor Dr. Ljupcho Melovski, focused on the ecology of the forest ecosystems of Mount Galichica, to today's strong partnerships with the Municipality of Resen, Ezerani Nature Park, Galichica and Pelister National Parks, local schools, organizations, and environmentally conscious companies, we remain dedicated to protecting, conserving, and promoting the unique natural heritage of the Prespa region.

That is why it is a great honor for us that this year, at the opening ceremony of the 24th edition of the International Theatre Festival “Actor of Europe” in Resen, we were presented with the "Keys of Prespa" award. The distinction is granted to individuals and institutions that have made a significant contribution to promoting Prespa internationally, and we are especially proud that the Macedonian Ecological Society is the first organization to receive this prestigious recognition.

On behalf of the Society, the award was accepted by our Executive Director, MSc Robertina Brajanoska, who reaffirmed our strong commitment to continue working for the benefit of Prespa. She emphasized that this recognition belongs to all ecologists, researchers, scientists, educators, volunteers, and nature enthusiasts whose knowledge, time, and dedication contribute to the research, conservation, and enhancement of the natural values of this extraordinary region.

We share the same vision with the “Actor of Europe” Festival - that Prespa can only be preserved and developed sustainably through good-neighborly cross-border cooperation. In this spirit, our long-standing partnership within the #PrespaNet network of environmental organizations, together with the Society for the Protection of Prespa (SPP) from Greece and Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania (PPNEA), stands as a successful example of how a shared commitment to nature brings people together, regardless of borders.

We are grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey over the past decades and who continues to believe in our mission - to conserve nature through civic engagement and the advancement of knowledge!

Prespa is our home, and our home needs to be protected!
